Sacred Moments
Weddings

Congratulations on your plans to be married!
The Presbyterian Church (USA) Book of Order states:
"Marriage is a gift God has given to all humankind for the well-being of the entire human family. Marriage involves a unique commitment between two people, traditionally a man and a woman, to love and support each other for the rest of their lives. The sacrificial love that unites the couple sustains them as faithful and responsible members of the church and the wider community.”
Contact the church office at (843)815-6570 to check the availability of the date and time you wish to be married.

Baptism
Christian history reveals that baptism is a rite which celebrates a person’s identification with and incorporation into the church. The scriptures affirm that the act of placing water on the head of the individual does not result in moral perfection. Rather, baptism affirms both the mystery of God’s grace and its earthly reality. It serves as a means by which the Holy Spirit comes to us and works within us.
For adults, baptism confirms their desire to follow Christ. For children, baptism looks forward to their life of faith as God’s beloved child. For parents, baptism provides an opportunity to affirm their intention to nurture their child in the church, and with the character we see in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. Finally, baptism affirms the fact that each of us is an amazing and wonderful gift from God.
Since baptism is rite of initiation into the community of God’s people, at LPC baptism occurs during our Sunday morning worship service, and after meeting with the pastor. Please call the church office to schedule a meeting with the pastor.
Funeral and Memorial Services

Recognizing that our live in this world is finite, it appropriate to mark the loss of loved ones with a service that honors and celebrates the life they lived among us, recognizes that they are a person created in the image of God and thus the world is diminished by their passing, and to affirm our belief that death is not the last word, but that God has the power to raise us up to new life.
We understand funeral and memorials to be services of worship that can be held in our sanctuary, at a funeral home, or at a cemetery. If you have lost a family member or loved one to death and would like to talk about how to bring closure to their life here on earth, please call our church office to schedule a time to speak to one of our pastors.
