Elders of the Session

Our congregation is governed by a group of member-elected and ordained

Ruling Elders which comprise the Session

Jan answered the call to be an elder in 2023 to grow her religious education and provide more volunteer time in service to the church. What she most enjoys at LPC is the fellowship with other church members in a loving environment where members care about one another.

"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint." Isaiah 40: 29-31

Sandy Benninger

Building & Grounds

LPC is a place where Sandy has been able to put her faith into action. She finds great joy participating in Backpack Buddies, Habitat for Humanity, church food drives and mission trips to help  ravaged communities. At LPC we love our neighbors both near and far.

Kevin loves the sense of community, and the traditional church experience at Lowcountry Presbyterian Church.  Being an Elder allows him to contribute to the church and further grow his faith.

Congregational Care

Gigi joined LPC because she enjoys the messages and teachings. She accepted the call to join the session because she was taught that when you’re asked to serve God’s children, and your able, you do so.

"The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff-- they comfort me…"

 Psalms 23

Janit feels that LPC has a genuine Christian energy of love, acceptance, serving our community, and joy!

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."  Galatians 6:9

When Elaine enters the doors of LPC she gets the warm and loving feeling of being home.

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”

2 Peter 3:18.

Anne Redlus

Missions

When Anne joined  LPC 10 years ago, she immediately was drawn to Missions and have been on that committee ever since.  Making a difference locally and beyond has been my mantra forever as we continue to look for new ways to serve through God's leading.

Anne loves the hymn....Here I am Lord: "Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard you calling in the night. I will go, Lord, if you lead me. I will hold your people in my heart."

Dale strongly believes that all of us who have been greatly blessed by God have a responsibility to use those gifts of talent, wealth or knowledge to better the lives of others less fortunate. “To whom much is given, much will be required.” Luke 12:48.

Missions

Sandy is looking forward to her commitment as an elder in this church community which has a wonderful Christian energy filled with love, a generous spirit of giving, and service. “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with Gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God. It is He that has made us and not we ourselves : we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.”

Psalm 100: 1-4

Rachel Held Evans once said - "I can't be a Christian on my own. I need a community. I need the church." LPC is that family of faith for Pam!
