Geoff Borgelt joined LPC's staff as organist in January 2019. He is not new to LPC, however, since he is one of our own members! Geoff has spent over 50 years serving as Organist in congregations in Ohio, Georgia, and South Carolina. He was a dual major in college at the University of Toledo in music education and organ. He did graduate work towards a Masters in the same fields at Bowling Green State University and the University of Michigan. Geoff also taught in the public schools in Ohio, especially enjoying high school choral directing. He and Bonnie joined LPC in 2015 and have been very active. Most recently he served Lord of Life Lutheran and is happy to be coming home to serve the music ministry of this congregation.
Choir rehearsal is on Thursday's at 7:00pm
LPC is truly blessed by our talented and devoted musicians, vocal and instrumental, under the direction of Dr. Robin Lind, and accompanied by organist Geoff Borgelt. The Chancel Choir is an integral part of the 10:30AM worship service and both services on Communion Sunday, as well as special offerings for Easter and Christmas. Other members and guest artists often lend their talents from time to time. Of course we always welcome anyone to join the choir or bell ringers to "make a joyful noise to the Lord."
From time to time, some of our young singers get to sing with the "big" choir
Lowcountry Presbyterian is blessed to have a very active handbell choir, Jubilate Ringers, and an exceptional set of Schulmark bells, many of which have been donated by members of the congregation. JRs typically play the second Sunday of the month at both services. Rehearsals are about 1 hour in length and begin at 12:30PM on Tuesdays. If you cannot make a rehearsal or a Sunday service, we have a list of substitute ringers who are willing to take your place for the time you are away. We welcome anyone who is interested in this ministry to contact Judy Barry, email@example.com. If you can count to four, like to laugh, enjoy chocolate, and the joy of worshipping through music, then you qualify.
