LCP volunteers can often be found at Habitat for Humanity building sites, working side-by-side with our brothers and sisters from other churches - in this example the Apostles Build project on Hilton Head Island. The Ribbon Cutting ceremony for this home was held on December 3rd.
Time to Gather Together
About 150 folks gathered to begin their Lenten journey in the LPC sanctuary, blessed by Janie Reynold’s solo and marked by ashes, hearing the words, “Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return.”
After second service on Sunday March 18th, 30 to 40 people gathered near the big magnolia tree in front of our church where a plaque has been placed. Bill Walker stated the purpose was to honor the work that David Haas did to beautify our campus. Elder Al Thomas spoke of David’s dedication to our landscaping – planting all of the beautiful azaleas we enjoy each spring and caring for our landscaping, spending many, many hours working. Al concluded with the words, “the world is a better place because of David Haas.” Pastor Chris concluded her closing prayer with, “May David’s gift inspire us all to find our own ways to share our talents and energy to serve your church, to spread your love and your grace. Amen.”
