Sunday Adult Bible Study Classes

Sunday Traditional Studies:  “Bible 102 – 6 Weeks Exploring Important Questions about the Bible.”   Using some humorous media clips, we’ll look at interesting topics such as: Why did some books NOT make it into the Bible?  Who Picked What Books Went In the Bible?  What Books Came the Closest to Being in the Bible? Led by our Director of Adult Discipleship (and Doctor of Ministry candidate), Joe Crowley, 9:35am, Fellowship Hall.

The Sunday Contemporary Study: "God is NOT Dead."  Based on the faith based movie by the same name. There will be 12 Christian Education workshops for Sunday school class with a leaders guide and selected video clips from the movie to help guide us through this journey. This is a truly inspiring story for all believers.

Lenten Small Group Study: “Seeing Ourselves in Those Confronted By Jesus”

Christians will learn about groups from Jesus' time, including the Pharisees, Sadducees, Essenes, and Zealots.  Participants will also be challenged to consider who in the twenty-first century church is like the members of these groups.

This is a downloadable resource from Thoughtful Christian so participants will be asked to donate a few dollars to cover the paper cost! Groups will meet in the parlor for five weeks beginning:

Tuesday, February 20th at 5:30pm (Please note change in day) led by Rev. Chris Herrin

Wednesday, February 21st 2:00pm led by Joe Crowley.

Sign-up in the Narthex or by calling the church office by Friday, the 16th. Study guides will be printed and made available Sunday the 18th for pick-up prior to the first class and also in the office during the weekdays.

New Small Group Offering:  The Tuesday Women's Small Group

We will be discussing the book: Jesus, Pope Francis and a Protestant Walk Into a Bar by Paul Rock and Bill Tammeus.  The group will meet from 3:00 to 4:15pm, starting February 27th for 6 or 7 weeks in the Church Parlor.  The writers thoughtfully examine what is universal among Christians, what is unique to Catholics and Protestants, and how all Christians can practice understanding and cooperation across differences. The seven chapters of this book are supported by online video of the sermon series at:  Sign-up on the bulletin board in the Narthex by February 20th so books can be ordered at a cost of $10 each. Group discussions will be facilitated by Sonia Abernethy and Nancy Kozlowski.
