HOW WE CONNECT
PCUSA congregations are locally governed by a group of member-elected Elders which comprise the Session. All PCUSA churches are connected through "presbyteries", in our case the Charleston-Atlantic Presbytery.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
LPC is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA), which is part of a community of Christians which subscribes to the "Reformed Theological Tradition", guided by Scripture and The Apostles' Creed.
Most of our members have relocated to the Bluffton area from somewhere else; very few are "natives" of the South Carolina Lowcountry (from which we derive our name). Many arrived initially as tourists, attracted by the golf, beaches and warm weather of nearby Hilton Head Island. Of those, many eventually became residents of greater Bluffton, from Moss Creek to the Sun City community in Okatie, which welcomed its first residents at about the same time as LPC's development.
Since its initial gathering in a 2nd floor room in a bank building in the fall of 1993, LPC's family has grown to nearly 500 members. The existing sanctuary was completed in 2000, replacing the original place of worship which now serves many uses as the Fellowship Hall. Reverend Christine Herrin was called to become our tenth pastor in 2014.
Whether a full-time or seasonal resident or visitor seeking a church home, you are cordially invited to share our worship experience and get acquainted with us. More information about our church and ministries can be found by clicking the links at the top of this page.
WHO ARE WE
Surrounded by God's grace, we are a family of faith joined together through Christ, offering meaning and hope to all by the way we worship, serve and live. We are a Stephen Ministry congregation.
